State Crime Records Bureau

The main objective of the State Crime Record Bureau is management of crime records and to act as a clearing house of Crime and Criminal Information System. The Crime Criminal Information System is used by the Police Organization and other government organization only.

State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) was created in the year 1992 at Police Headquarter with only two staff. In 1998 the SCRB was shifted to CID (Crime Branch) office, Aizawl with 3 staff. All the posts are transferred to Crime Branch in 2006 for proper functioning of the SCRB.

 

Strength and Functions:

 

♦ Strength: Inspr-1, SI-4, ASI-5 Total-10.

1. Implementation of MHA, Government of India flagship Programme - Crime Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) Project.
2. To provide training facilities to the police personnel of Mizoram Police in computer usage.
3. Collection and compilation of Crime in India (CII) and Accidental Death & Suicides (ADAS) and timely submission to NCRB.
4. Maintenance and updation of MVCS data and issuance of NOC.
5. Coordination and maintenance of liaison with NCRB, New Delhi and other SCRBx.
